Composing Workshops for young people aged 14 - 18

Creative Composing Lab is an exciting opportunity for young people in Years 10 - 13 (ages 14* - 18) to compose guided by the expert knowledge of professional composer David Horne from Royal Northern College of Music and BCMG musicians.

Participants will spend the day learning techniques, gaining ideas, and trying new things out with a focus on composing for the BCMG musicians. The workshops are a great opportunity for budding composers to interact with both professional musicians and other like-minded young people.

If you love creating your own music or you need ideas for your GCSE, BTEC, or A-level composition, Creative Composing Lab is for you. Each workshop culminates in a performance for family and friends and all music is recorded for download.

There is one workshop per term and places are allotted on a first-come-first-served basis. All workshops are free but (optional donation) we do ask that you book a place in advance as places are limited. Booking opens about 3 weeks before each workshop.
