Culture Feast

Culture Feast Launched

Birmingham’s leading contemporary arts organisations have joined forces to create Culture Feast: a joint ticket that gives access to six theatre, dance, music and art events all for £25 total.

With a single purchase, art fans will get tickets for a theatre production by Stan’s Cafe, a dance show from DanceXchange, a videogame with live orchestra at Town Hall, the outstanding talent of Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, and exclusive guided tours of Digbeth First Friday and Ikon.

In addition to entry to these specially-selected events, the lucky ticket-holders will be welcomed to each Culture Feast event by a member of the host’s team and afterwards they’ll get to let it all sink in with an “audience exchange”, where they can chat to fellow Culture Feast visitors about what they’ve experienced (much like a “book group” for the contemporary arts).

The project is another example of Birmingham’s arts sector working together. It has grown out of the Birmingham Contemporary Arts Network in response to findings from the Understanding Audiences for the Contemporary Arts project at the University of Sheffield.

Tickets and full details are available at culturefeast.org.

Seb Huckle, Marketing Manager, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group said:
“Arts organisations in Birmingham are naturally collaborative, so it made sense to find a way to share our audiences. As a founding member of Birmingham Contemporary Arts Network, BCMG hopes to help introduce music lovers to dance, theatre and art through Culture Feast, and in exchange we look forward to welcoming culture fans who perhaps haven’t heard us perform yet.”

Roisin Caffrey, Executive Producer, Stan’s Cafe said:
“Culture Feast is a unique idea – where else can you experience so much contemporary art for just £25? Birmingham is absolutely bursting with outstanding art and artists and we want to encourage everyone to sample as much of the city’s culture as possible.”
