'Birmingham Contemporary Music Group continues to serve up programme pies from which you can only pull out plums ... will they ever get it wrong'
Christopher Morley, Birmingham Post
Sunday 24th and Monday 25th January saw the first BCMG concerts of 2010 at Wigmore Hall, London and CBSO Centre, Birmingham respectively – with the Wigmore Hall performance being a complete sell out.
Conducted by Oliver Knussen, the BCMG ensemble, joined by Claire Booth (soprano), Hilary Summers (contralto) and Christopher Gillett (tenor), performed Sound Investment commissions by Luke Bedford and Helen Grime, alongside early works by the greats Harrison Birtwistle, Peter Maxwell Davies and Alexander Goehr.
Both concerts were wonderfully received by critics and audiences alike. To see a full list of the reviews click here.
