Music Maze is a free, fun, creative and participatory workshop for children aged 8 – 11 and an accompanying adult family member or carer organised by Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and led by BCMG Director of Learning & Participation Nancy Evans and BCMG musicians.
Using participants own instruments and BCMG’s fantastic percussion collection, together we will compose musical lines, layers and contours inspired by Field Notes, a new piece of music and textile art installation by composer Howard Skempton and artist Matthew Harris, and Treatise, an amazing graphic score by composer Cornelius Cardew. Both of these pieces will be featured in BCMG’s Field Notes performance on Thursday 20 March 2014 at SpArC Theatre.
Participants do not need to play a musical instrument to take part. Places are FREE but limited and must be booked in advance.
