Requiem To Let

Last year 5839 shops shut down on British high streets, with nearly a thousand of these not replaced. Michael Wolters’ requiem for solo musician with electronic accompaniment receives its first ever performances by bass clarinetist Jack McNeill on Saturday and on Sunday it will be sung by mezzo-soprano Suzie Purkis.

On both occasions it will be sad, in an uplifting kind of way. Written especially to be performed in an empty shop,  was commissioned by BCMG for the Birmingham Weekender.
