Affected by the developments of the pandemic, we are sad to announce that THIS CONCERT IS POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We are working with our partners to find a new date.

We are delighted to be partnering up with our friends at Das Neue Ensemble to perform Karlheinz Stockhausen's Sternklang as part of the ACHT BRÜCKEN | EIGHT BRIDGES - Music for Cologne Festival, which every year brings contemporary music to the city since its start in 2011.

Described as a "twilight fantasy", Sternklang (Star Sound, in English) is conceived as an outdoor performance, under an open sky with a clear view of the stars so that the singers and instrumentalists, who are distributed as spatially far apart groups in the sound field, can read some of their notes directly from the firmament ... and we will perform it in a football stadium!

A number of constellations such as Lion, Ursa Minor or Cassiopeia provided Stockhausen with the inspiration for this spiritual music, from which he developed model rhythms, timbres and intervals. And that for each ensemble individually, who listen to each other and complement each other.

"Sternklang," says Stockhausen, "is music for concentrated listening in meditation, for the sinking of the individual into the cosmic whole".
