Primary Schools

BCMG’s primary school programme's main focus is on composing, improvising and other creative music making in the classroom. As well as workshops for young people, we deliver CPD for teachers in this area. We work hard to ensure our projects are true collaborations between teachers, composers, workshop leaders, musicians and the young people, recognising that expertise is held by all and that each project should be a learning opportunity for everyone involved. We are a research partner of Birmingham City University and are committed to using the latest research to inform our programme and planning.

Below is our current programme of activity. We are always looking for opportunities for extended projects and are happy to support fundraising efforts to make this happen.  Examples of more extended projects can be found on the past projects page.

We are a partner of the Birmingham Music Education Partnership.
