Soliloquies in Dialogue: Celeste Oram

Commission a new solo piece for digital channels

  • For £20+ you'll be thanked in the video performance credits
  • For £150+ you'll receive the above, plus your name in the score, and an invitation to the first real world performance
  • For £500+ you'll receive all of the above, plus a personal thank you message from the composer

As part of our new series, BCMG at Home, we are excited to announce Soliloquies and Dialogues.

Using these unprecedented times as a stimulus for creativity, we are commissioning a series of new pieces from composers around the globe whose countries have been significantly impacted by COVID-19.

Composers have been asked to create a piece for a solo artist and will work with that musician over digital platforms to rehearse, refine, and record their music.

We're thrilled to work once again with composer Celeste Oram, who will compose a new solo piece for trumpet, to receive its world premiere exclusively on digital channels.

Celeste Oram

Celeste Oram is a composer from Aotearoa, New Zealand, currently based in Southern California. Her works investigate new media and strategies for musical performance and notation: video, audio, and text scores prompt performers into scenarios where they confront sound, history, and digital realities.

BCMG first commissioned Celeste in 2018 for Pierrot Laborieux [work & The Work], a dual concept work of live performance accompanied by an interactive soundart installation.

Would you like to be the Sole Commissioner of a new piece?

We are looking for a handful of individuals to pledge £1,000+ as Sole Commissioners for more new commissions as part of BCMG at Home.
