One of the most esteemed composers of his generation, Anderson's music is regularly performed around the world and in his native UK.

Anderson first commission from the group, 2005's Book of Hours received its world premiere under the baton of the late great Oliver Knussen and was realised in partnership with CBSO, during the composer's tenure as the orchestra's Composer-in-Association residency.

Anderson has been described as a 21st century Debussy and this piece might share a connection with the composer's contribution for BCMG's recent Tombeau de Debussy. It will be a song, part of a larger cycle including a commission from Das Neue Ensemble. It may feature a text in French, scored for soprano and chamber ensemble.
