We are delighted to be bringing live music to audiences again. In partnership with Das Neue Ensemble and Nordic Voices, we will perform Karlheinz Stockhausen's Sternklang at Berggarten Hannover at the end of August.

Described as a "twilight fantasy", Sternklang (Star Sound, in English) is conceived as an outdoor performance, under an open sky with a clear view of the stars so that the singers and instrumentalists, who are distributed as spatially far apart groups in the sound field, can read some of their notes directly from the firmament.

A number of constellations such as Lion, Ursa Minor or Cassiopeia provided Stockhausen with the inspiration for this spiritual music, from which he developed model rhythms, timbres and intervals. And that for each ensemble individually, who listen to each other and complement each other.

The Berggarten in Hannover is the perfect location for this fascinating work, and for such a unique encounter between musicians, audience, nature and firmament.

"Sternklang," says Stockhausen, "is music for concentrated listening in meditation, for the sinking of the individual into the cosmic whole".
