A core part of BCMG’s mission is commissioning new music. Since the group was formed in 1987 it has commissioned and given the world premieres of over 170 new works. This also extends to commissioning new work for young people to perform.

The latest piece to be commissioned is a short fanfare/flourish for the Kings Norton Boys and Girls Schools Orchestra by our Apprentice Composer in Residence Donghoon Shin to be premiered in June 2018,
