Music Workshops for children aged 7 - 11

Music Maze is a series of free creative music-making workshops for children in Years 3-6 (ages 7* - 11) that take place on Sundays approximately once a month throughout the year at CBSO Centre, Birmingham.

The workshops are linked to music from BCMG concerts and led by Director of Learning & Participation Nancy Evans and BCMG musicians. The workshops are a fun opportunity for young people just starting to play a musical instrument, or thinking about doing so. Participants will create their own music with other young people. Everyone is welcome whether they play a musical instrument or not. Each workshop ends with a performance for family and friends.

All workshops are FREE with an optional donation, but we do ask that you book a place in advance as places are limited. Booking opens about 3 weeks before each workshop. To find out when the next workshop is and book see What's On for Young People!

*Any 7 olds should be in Year 3, not in Year 2.

Participants are now able to work towards Arts Award Explore through our workshops. Find out more about Arts Award.

"Music Maze just seems like such a joyous experience. For the professional musicians and students involved in delivering it, it never seems like a chore - their enthusiasm for the music and for sharing their passion shines through. All the children, even the most lively are totally focussed when it comes to the performance, and the amount of work that they have got through in the morning always amazes us."
