What's On Events for Young People BCMG Young Composers - Autumn Composing Workshops for 11 - 14 year olds 17th September - 3rd December BCMG Young Composers is an exciting project for budding composers in School Years 7 - 9 (ages 11* - 14) giving young people the opportunity to compose for BCMG musicians guided by composer Kirsty Devaney. Do you play a musical instrument but also have a passion for composing or, would like to try composing for the first time? If yes, this project is for you! Each term we will recruit a cohort of young people to participate in the series of weekend workshops. In these workshops, you will have the opportunity to compose for BCMG musician(s) and explore a range of composing techniques. The project will culminate in a concert of music created at CBSO Centre which will be filmed and recorded. Experience in reading and writing music notation is helpful but not required. You must be able to attend all the workshop sessions, details are listed below.
