INSIGHT: exploring Param Vir's sarod concerto

Delhi-born composer Param Vir spent his early years steeped in Indian classical music, coming to the UK in the 1980s to study composition in a western idiom. Vir’s second BCMG Sound Investment commission will integrate these two traditions by fusing Indian classical ‘ragas’ with his own highly developed harmonic language to create a concerto for sarod and ensemble.
