Compose for BCMG musicians!

Participants: 11-14 year olds (school years 7 to 9)

Workshops dates:

Sunday 27 September, 10.00am – 1.00pm (CBSO Centre)

Sunday 25 October, 10.00am – 1.00pm (CBSO Centre)

Sunday 15 November, 10.00am – 1.00pm (CBSO Centre)

BCMG Young Composers is an exciting project for budding composers aged 11- 14 (school years 7-9) giving young people the opportunity to compose for BCMG musicians guided by a professional composer. Do you play a musical instrument but also have a passion for composing or, would like to try composing for the first time? If yes, this project is for you!

Each term we recruit a cohort of young people to participate in the series of weekend workshops. In the workshops, you have the opportunity to compose for BCMG musician(s) and explore a range of composing techniques. The workshops culminate in a concert of music created which is recorded and shared after the event. Experience in reading and writing music notation is helpful but not required.

You must be able to attend all the workshop sessions.

All workshops are FREE with an optional donation, but places must be booked in advance.
