200 years since his birth, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Karl Marx Exhibitions Organisation present a series of concerts, soundart installations and events commemorating the life and work of Karl Marx in Trier in Germany and Birmingham and London in the UK.

Specially commissioned music by Robert Reid Allan, Sergej Newski, Celeste Oram, Frédéric Pattar, Kaspar Querfurth, Richie Wang and nine winners of the Wilde Lieder Marx.Music International Call for Scores, performed by Birmingham Contemporary Music Group conducted by Michael Wendeberg with soprano Elizabeth Atherton & baritone Marcus Farnsworth.
