Hear our NEXT musicians perform works by Michael Zev Gordon ahead of the premiere of his opera Raising Icarus.

NEXT musicians will perform a selection of Michael Zev Gordon’s chamber works including Sensucht, Seize the Day, A Small Folly and Fragments from a Diary in this short, late afternoon recital at the CBSO Centre, just a 5-minute walk from Birmingham Repertory Theatre where the opera will be performed.

BCMG NEXT is brought to you as part of the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group's NEXT study programme, in collaboration with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The NEXT study programme offers a unique 1 year training programme for music students and professional musicians, looking for a career as performers of contemporary music.
